Artistic Hive publishes educational guides for photographers, filmmakers and other creative professionals. These standards explain how to read our research, examples and disclosures. They also guide the ongoing review of older articles.

Research and firsthand experience

Manufacturer specifications, documented research and firsthand observations are different kinds of evidence. A sourced comparison does not establish that the author owned or tested every item. A hands-on claim should identify the tester, exact product or software version, method, conditions and relevant limitations. Where supporting records are unavailable, the article should use research-based wording instead.

Authorship and specialist review

Article bylines credit authors. Editing assistance, photography, illustrations and specialist review are separate contributions and should be credited when applicable. An author biography describes background; it is not proof that every product, location or procedure in an article was personally tested. Our existing founder and author information is available on the About page. We do not imply that a qualified specialist reviewed guidance unless that review actually took place.

Sources, dates and corrections

We prefer original documentation, institutional records and the responsible provider’s terms for factual claims. Prices and availability are observations for the stated date, region and variant, not guaranteed checkout totals. Software controls can differ by version, device and account. Conflicting source terms should be identified rather than silently resolved by guesswork.

A revision date should reflect a substantive review. A dated guide is not a live monitoring service. To report an error, use our contact page and identify the article, disputed statement and supporting source. Corrections should preserve an internal record of the previous wording and the reason for the change.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate commissions, sponsorships, paid placements and supplied or loaned products are different relationships. When one applies, the affected article should identify the relevant relationship close to the recommendation or link. An affiliate link can generate a commission on a qualifying purchase; a regular source citation does not establish sponsorship. Links to Artistic Hive’s own courses or products should be recognizable as our resources.

This policy does not certify that every legacy relationship record has been confirmed. A product link alone should not be read as evidence of a hands-on test, a supplied review sample or editorial independence.

Images, demonstrations and downloads

Illustrations, synthetic demonstrations and generated artwork should be labeled where readers could mistake them for photographs, test results or historical artifacts. A conceptual image is not evidence of product performance. Publication on a manufacturer or museum website does not by itself grant permission to reproduce an image. Asset credits and reuse documentation are part of the ongoing editorial review.

Download descriptions should identify the actual format, what is included and whether a file is a blank template, worked fictional example or tested output. Suggested exercises are not completed experiments.

AI-assisted work in the 2026 revision campaign

The 2026 article revision campaign uses AI-assisted research, drafting, editing, code and some illustrative artwork. Source checking and technical checks are part of that workflow. AI output is not proof of a real-world test, an author’s experience, a professional qualification or an asset license. Generated conceptual covers are identified as illustrations rather than original photography.
